The partner Gallivan Media has been developing websites since 1997, working with accomplished firms in various creative, technical and analytical realms. Their projects include Rogers, Fido, Blockbuster Canada, the Fresh Coffee Network, and EyeBuyArt.com. They are a small, nimble firm dedicated to realizing the forward-thinking potential of the Internet.
The partnership Amidst a sea of confusing website programming proposals full of technical jargon and strange language, Gallivan Media came forward with a simple, straightforward, digestible plan for how to build Small Change Fund’s website. Not only that but Gallivan Media offered to provide us with free training on all aspects of website upkeep and maintenance as their contribution to the vision of Small Change Fund.

The partner Global Greengrants Fund makes grants (typically $500 to $5,000) to grassroots groups in some of the world’s most despoiled and impoverished places where other sources of support often are not available. Since their first grant in 1993, Greengrants has made more than 3500 grants to groups in over 120 countries. They believe that grassroots groups are a key to solving the intractable problems of poverty, powerlessness and environmental destruction.
The partnership Small Change Fund is the Canadian partner in the Global Greengrants Alliance of Funds. Along with the Center for Socio-Environmental Support – CASA in Brazil, The Samdhana Institute in Southeast Asia, and the Fondo Accion Solidaria (Solidarity in Action Fund) in Mexico, Small Change Fund helps to mobilize new financial and material support, strengthen local and national networks, and advocate for the power of small change.

The partnership LUSH has generously supported four Small Change Fund projects in full, through the Charity Pot Program. 100% of the retail price (minus taxes) of LUSH Charity Pot hand and body cream goes directly to carefully selected charities around the world that support animal rights, environmental protection, and humanitarian concerns. LUSH has fully supported the following Small Change Fund projects: Protecting Lake Windermere’s Rare and Beautiful Habitat, Protecting Yukon’s Peel Watershed: A Global Legacy, Engaging Fishermen to Advance Near-Shore Marine Protection in Nova Scotia, Keep the Restigouche Wild, Preventing Oilsands Fever, Protecting the Bay of Fundy, Canadian Youth Delegation Home Team.

The partner National Environmental Treasure is a people’s trust fund devoted to the exclusive funding of Canadian environmental organizations, to increase their core capacity. NET is particularly interested in supporting the under-funded smaller and medium-sized organizations, working in local communities and regions. Their goal is to build a 30 million dollar public charitable foundation for the environment – the equivalent of every Canadian donating a “loonie” for their environment.
The partnership A few years ago National Environmental Treasure launched into a research project on microphilanthropy and citizen engagement. NET was interested in exploring new models of micro-philanthropy, on-line giving, public engagement strategies and the potential of issue-based charitable giving platforms in the areas of things like climate change, indigenous peoples’ rights, and water security. Because Small Change Fund and NET share so many of the same values and goals, and because NET believes so strongly in innovation and collaboration, we work closely together to collectively advance the cause of grassroots giving.

Members have one thing in common: they are online front runners in creating a better world. Online Pioneers for Good believes that bundling forces will result in fruitful knowledge exchange, productive cooperation and effective global campaigns.
The partnership Online Pioneers for Good is helping Small Change Fund intelligently use the power of the Internet to engage individuals, groups, communities, and companies in doing good work according to principles of social networking, user generated content, and crowd sourcing to create a better world.

The partner The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), one of Canada’s leading grantmaking foundations, is an agency of the Government of Ontario. The Ontario Trillium Foundation is a catalyst that enables Ontarians to work together to enhance the quality of life in their communities. They believe that communities across Ontario are rich in talent, creativity and drive, and Trillium Foundation grants stimulate communities to build on these assets.
The partnership Small Change Fund has received multi-year funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to hire an Executive Director, create a strategic plan, start an internship program, and contribute to Ontario environmental groups with small grants. This support from Trillium will help us enormously to build our capacity and support grassroots action across the province.

The partner SiG is a national collaborative partnership between The J.W. McConnell Family Foundation, the University of Waterloo, the MaRS Discovery District, and the PLAN Institute that advances new approaches to addressing persistent social and environmental issues.
The strategic focus at SiG@MaRS is capacity building for social innovation through direct support by means of trainings, workshops, direct customized consultations and lectures and resources.
The partnership SiG@MaRS provides access to resources that can help Small Change Fund turn our ideas into positive outcomes for society, enhancing the quality of life for people in Ontario and across Canada. SiG@MaRS is helping Small Change Fund explore new instruments of social finance, foster opportunities for technology platforms to help scale social ventures, enhance our networks, and help support the launch and growth of Small Change Fund as a new social venture.

The actions in its database are aggregated from across the social web and include everything from volunteer opportunities to micro-credit loans. The overarching goal of Social Actions’ work is to make the web more action-oriented, or in other words, to make it easier for people to make a difference.
The partnership Social Actions is helping Small Change Fund intelligently distribute projects across social networks, the web, and mobile phones that millions of people use every day. Social Actions’ expertise in new media and social networks is the foundation for Small Change Fund’s strategy to spread the word and provide opportunities for Canadians to make a difference by supporting projects across the country.

The partner Studio:Blackwell is a graphic design studio practice, dedicated to the planning, design and production of creative projects across disciplines. Its small scale allows for close collaboration – with writers, artists, editors, curators, architects, and clients interested in engaging in a considered design process, planned specifically to achieve their objectives.
The partnership Kelsey Blackwell, principal of Studio:Blackwell, was hooked the first time she heard about the design brief for Small Change Fund. As a start-up with few resources, Small Change Fund didn’t have a lot of cash to spend on identity and design but Kelsey said that the vision embedded in Small Change Fund was more important to her than her hourly rate so she gave us a deal. Studio:Blackwell is the creative mind behind Small Change Fund’s identity and website. Not to mention the source of a lot of strategic suggestions and recommendations.
